Ingredients
- Egg white 1 piece
- Sugar 0 oz
- Cottage cheese 10 oz
- Wheat Flour 5 oz
- Baking Powder 1 teaspoon
- Ground Cinnamon 1 teaspoon
- Safflower Oil 25 fl oz
- Powdered Sugar 3 tablespoons
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Pass the cottage cheese through a metal sieve to eliminate lumps. Sift the flour with the baking powder into a bowl.
Step 2
Beat the egg with sugar and cinnamon until frothy, add the cottage cheese, flour with baking powder, and knead the dough.
Step 3
On a floured work surface, roll the dough into a log, cut it into small pieces the size of a walnut, and shape them into balls.
Step 4
In a deep pot, heat the oil for frying to 160–355°F and drop the donuts in small batches. When they float to the surface and turn golden, remove them with a slotted spoon and place them on paper towels to drain excess fat.
Step 5
Dust with powdered sugar and serve with any jam, dessert sauce, or honey.
