Description

http://enjoy-your-food.blogspot.com (original recipe taken from a common American cooking blog) As for serving, you can choose to drizzle with melted chocolate or sugar glaze, decorating with sprinkles or nuts, or simply dusting with powdered sugar. In any case, it will be delicious, and importantly, not as greasy as it may seem at first glance!

Ingredients

  • Egg white 2 pieces
  • Sugar 5 oz
  • Wheat Flour 10 oz
  • Activated Baking Soda 1 teaspoon
  • Semi-soft cream cheese 10 oz
  • Vegetable Oil 10 fl oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Beat the eggs with sugar, add the baking soda. Now add the cottage cheese and beat again. Gradually add 300 g of flour and mix well. The dough should be firm and easily come away from the sides of the bowl. Form it into a ball. On a work surface, sprinkle the remaining 50 g of flour and roll out the dough to a thickness of 5–7 mm.

Step 2

Now it's time to cut out our future donuts. If you don't have special round cutters, you can simply use a glass (about 7 cm in diameter) and a plastic bottle cap. First, cut out large circles, then small ones in the center.

Step 3

Pour the oil into a small pot and heat it (for a few minutes).

Step 4

Now, carefully place each future donut into the oil one by one — it should 'bubble' as you do this. Once it starts to brown, flip it over. You can choose the degree of browning yourself, but I didn't fry them too much to avoid drying them out.

Step 5

Place the finished donuts on paper towels to absorb excess fat. The remaining small circles can also be dropped into the oil at the end — they will turn into cute little balls!
