Description
Corn soup with shrimp
Ingredients
- Canned Corn 1 can
- Peeled Cooked Shrimp 5 oz
- Milk 2 glasses
- Butter 5 teaspoons
- Water 2 glasses
- Wheat Flour 2 spoons
- Ocean salt to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Drain the corn and puree it in a blender. Transfer to a pot and add 2 cups of water.
Step 2
Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, stirring to prevent it from sticking to the bottom and burning. Then, it's best to set the pot aside.
Step 3
Take another pot and heat the milk in it.
Step 4
In the next pot, melt butter at the bottom and gradually and gently stir in the flour to avoid lumps. Pour in the warmed milk (if lumps do form, you can blend the mixture after it has cooled slightly).
Step 5
Combine the butter-flour mixture with the milk and add it to the corn, heating until it reaches a boil while stirring thoroughly.
Step 6
Add the shrimp and salt. After adding the shrimp, cook the soup for a maximum of 7 minutes to retain their firmness.
Step 7
Optional additions include herbs, cheese, and croutons made from white bread.
