Corn and Cheese Chowder
Ingredients
- Butter 4 tablespoons
- Scallions 1 piece
- Bacon 3 pieces
- Canned Corn 1 can
- White Pepper (whole) 3 pieces
- Wheat Flour ¼ cup
- Chicken Broth 3 cups
- Milk 1 cup
- White bread 1 piece
- Grated Pecorino Pepato Cheese 5 oz
- Cream 1 cup
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
In a large skillet, melt the butter. Sauté the onion and bacon until golden brown.
Step 2
Add the finely chopped pepper.
Step 3
Add the corn and simmer for a while longer.
Step 4
Stir in the flour, then pour in the broth. Let it sit for a couple of minutes.
Step 5
Pour in the mixture of cream and milk (you can use just milk). Let it simmer on low heat for 10–15 minutes. Add the finely chopped onion.
Step 6
Allow the soup to thicken.
Step 7
Stir in the grated cheese. Add salt and pepper. Cover and let it sit for a while.
Step 8
Take the bread. Remove all the insides from the bread. Pour the soup into it.
