Cookies with Dark Chocolate in Powdered Sugar
Baking and Desserts • French
Description
Chocolate cookies are always a celebration. This recipe is simple and reliable, but the key is to spend a little extra and choose real dark chocolate instead of cocoa powder, preferably 70%. This will give the cookies a vibrant and rich flavor of genuine chocolate. The finishing touch is powdered sugar; without it, the cracked brown balls won't look as aesthetically pleasing.
Ingredients
- Butter 5 oz
- 70% Dark Chocolate 5 oz
- Sugar ½ glasses
- Vanilla extract 1 tablespoon
- Chicken Egg 2 pieces
- Wheat Flour ½ glasses
- Cocoa Powder 2 spoons
- Baking Powder ¾ spoons
- Salt ¼ spoons
- Powdered Sugar 3 spoons
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Melt the chocolate and butter in a double boiler, remove from heat, and let it cool slightly.
Step 2
Meanwhile, whisk the eggs with the sugar until thickened.
Step 3
Add vanilla extract and melted chocolate to the egg mixture. Mix thoroughly.
Step 4
In a bowl, combine the flour with cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Sift the mixture to combine, then gradually add it to the egg and chocolate mixture, stirring until smooth.
Step 5
Place the dough in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
Step 6
While the dough is chilling, preheat the oven to 330°F and line the bottom of a baking tray with parchment paper.
Step 7
Make small balls from the chilled dough (about 4 cm in diameter), roll them in powdered sugar, place them on a baking sheet, and gently press down on the tops of the balls with your fingers to slightly flatten them, giving them a shape similar to cookies.
Step 8
Bake in the oven for about 12 minutes.
