Cookie Balls with Chocolate Filling
Baking and Desserts • American
Description
If you don't like walnuts, you can use almonds or hazelnuts; either way, it will be great. In the original recipe, the filling is made from chocolate, but here, a thick jam with a bit of tartness works wonderfully (we even liked it more). It's a matter of taste and imagination.
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour 10 oz
- Butter 5 oz
- Egg white 1 piece
- Whole egg 2 pieces
- Sugar 5 oz
- Vanilla salt to taste
- Citrus Zest Mix 1 piece
- Rum 2 teaspoons
- Walnuts 5 oz
- Egg white 2 pieces
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Beat the room temperature butter with sugar, vanilla sugar, egg, egg yolks, lemon zest, and rum. Add the sifted flour and knead the dough. Then wrap it in plastic wrap and leave it in the refrigerator for an hour.
Step 2
Form small balls from the dough, dip them in egg white, and roll them in nuts.
Step 3
Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, bake at 355°F. Bake until the balls rise and feel firm to the touch, about 20 minutes.
Step 4
For the filling, melt 100 g of chocolate and 40 g of butter over low heat. Let it cool. Spread the filling on one half and cover with the other.
