Colorful Marshmallows
Ingredients
- Gelatin 2½ teaspoons
- Water 5 fl oz
- Sugar 5 oz
- Red Food Coloring to taste
- Yellow Sugar to taste
- Vegetable Oil to taste
- Caramel Syrup to taste
- Powdered Sugar to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
In a bowl, mix 90 ml of water and gelatin. Let it swell for 5 minutes.
Step 2
Grease a 20x20 cm square mold with vegetable oil, then line it with parchment paper and grease it again.
Step 3
In a small saucepan, combine the remaining 60 ml of water and sugar. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Then cook for another 2 minutes without stirring.
Step 4
Remove from heat and add the gelatin.
Step 5
Pour the syrup into a bowl and beat with a mixer for about 10 minutes until the mixture thickens and cools. About 3-4 minutes into whipping, when the syrup turns white, add a few drops of food coloring (you can divide the syrup into 3 portions and add different colors).
Step 6
Spread the mixture into the prepared mold and smooth it out. Cover and let it sit overnight.
Step 7
In a bowl, add powdered sugar.
Step 8
Using a mold greased with vegetable oil, cut out cylindrical marshmallows and coat them in powdered sugar.
