Coffee Rolls with Nutella

Ingredients

  • Milk 5 fl oz
  • Butter 0 oz
  • Dry yeast 0 oz
  • Sugar 3 tablespoons
  • Egg white 1 piece
  • Wheat Flour 10 oz
  • Brown Sugar 0 oz
  • Instant coffee 3 teaspoons
  • Nutella® 5 oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

In a large bowl, combine the slightly warm milk with the yeast and melted butter, mix well, and let it sit for about 5–10 minutes until the yeast activates.

Step 2

Mix 1 teaspoon of espresso powder, sugar, and the egg. Add the yeast mixture.

Step 3

Gradually add the flour while mixing until the dough becomes smooth. If the dough is too dry, add a small amount of water. Conversely, if the dough is too sticky, add more flour (but do not add too much flour, as the dough may become too dense).

Step 4

Place the dough on a lightly floured surface and knead for 7–10 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.

Step 5

Put the dough in a pot or bowl, cover with plastic wrap or a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place until it doubles in size, about 2 hours.

Step 6

In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and 2 teaspoons of espresso powder.

Step 7

On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough into a rectangle measuring 25 by 30 cm.

Step 8

Spread the Nutella evenly over the dough, leaving a 2 cm border around the edges. Sprinkle with the brown sugar and espresso mixture.

Step 9

Roll the dough tightly, trim the ends, and cut into 9–10 segments.

Step 10

Place the rolls in a 25 cm round baking dish.

Step 11

Cover with a lid and allow the dough to rise until it doubles in size (about 45 minutes to 1 hour).

Step 12

Preheat the oven to 375°F and bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the tops of the rolls are golden brown.

Step 13

Serve immediately while hot.
