Clafoutis with Plums and Chocolate
Baking and Desserts • French
Description
Instead of a large baking dish, you can use several small ones. In this case, the steps remain the same, but the baking time will be shorter (20-25 minutes).
Ingredients
- Plums 20 oz
- Armagnac 3 tablespoons
- Sugar ½ cup
- Farm fresh eggs 4 pieces
- Milk 1 cup
- Butter 3 tablespoons
- Wheat Flour ½ cup
- Salt ¼ teaspoon
- Vanilla extract ½ teaspoon
- Almond 0.1 teaspoon
- Ground Cinnamon ¼ teaspoon
- Powdered Sugar 1 teaspoon
- Bittersweet Chocolate 5 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Cut the black or red plums into wedges (depending on their size - quarters or eighths) and soak them for 15 minutes in a mixture of Armagnac and 1 tablespoon of sugar.
Step 2
Melt the butter and chocolate in separate containers over a water bath.
Step 3
Lightly brush the sides of a baking dish with a pastry brush. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the plums into the prepared dish.
Step 4
Pour the remaining juice from the plums with Armagnac into a mixer and blend with the eggs.
Step 5
Then add the milk, melted butter and chocolate, almond extract, and vanilla extract to the mixer and blend again.
Step 6
Add the flour, salt, and ½ cup of sugar to the liquid and continue mixing in the mixer until smooth.
Step 7
Pour the flour mixture over the plums and place in an oven preheated to 375°F. Bake for about 35 minutes. After baking, let it cool for 15 minutes, sprinkle with powdered sugar, and serve.
