Cinnamon Rolls
Baking and Desserts • Creole
Description
This cinnamon roll recipe is perfect for those who are just starting to work with dough or are tired of complicated pastry constructions. First, take your time — let the dough rise so the rolls become fluffy and airy. Second, don't skimp on the butter: this will keep the dough moist, resulting in fragrant and tender rolls.
Ingredients
- Milk 10 fl oz
- Dry yeast 0 oz
- Sugar 0 oz
- Salt 1 tablespoon
- Butter 5 oz
- Chicken Egg 1 piece
- Wheat Flour 15 oz
- Brown Sugar 5 oz
- Cinnamon 2 spoons
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients.
Step 2
Mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast, and let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes until bubbles form on the surface.
Step 3
Add 45 grams of softened butter, a teaspoon of salt, and an egg, and beat with a mixer until smooth.
Step 4
Then add the sifted flour, changing the attachment to a dough hook. Knead until you have a uniform dough that should be sticky but easily pulls away from the sides of the bowl. If necessary, add a little more flour.
Step 5
Transfer the dough to a clean, greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and place in a warm spot for one hour.
Step 6
Punch down the risen dough and roll it out into a large rectangle approximately 30 by 40 cm.
Step 7
Melt 120 grams of butter, lightly brush the dough with it, sprinkle with a mixture of brown sugar and cinnamon, and drizzle with the remaining butter.
Step 8
Roll the dough into a long log. Cut it into 12 equal cylinders, each about 2.5 cm tall.
Step 9
Place the rolls in a baking tray, cover with a towel, and let them rise for 30–45 minutes.
Step 10
Preheat the oven to 340°F and bake the rolls for 15 minutes, or until they turn a golden brown.
Step 11
Cinnamon rolls can be served either warm or at room temperature.
