Churros with Chocolate Sauce

Ingredients

  • Butter 5 oz
  • Wheat Flour 5 oz
  • Egg white 3 pieces
  • Powdered Sugar 1 tablespoon
  • Vanilla salt to taste
  • Vegetable Oil 0 qt
  • Sweetened Condensed Milk with Coffee 1 cup
  • 70% Dark Chocolate 5 oz
  • Milk 1 teaspoon
  • Rum 1 teaspoon

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

In a saucepan, bring the milk, sugar, butter, and vanilla to a boil.

Step 2

Sift the flour into the mixture and stir until a dough forms.

Step 3

Add the egg yolks one at a time, mixing well after each addition.

Step 4

Pour the dough into a pastry bag fitted with a star tip.

Step 5

In a deep pot, heat the vegetable oil for frying and pipe the dough into the oil in 10 cm long strips.

Step 6

Fry the strips until golden brown. Remove to a paper towel to absorb excess oil. Dust with powdered sugar.

Step 7

For the chocolate sauce, heat the sweetened condensed milk and add pieces of chocolate, allowing the chocolate to soften slightly in the hot milk, then mix thoroughly until smooth and silky. Add 1 teaspoon each of milk and rum.

Step 8

Serve the churros with the chocolate sauce.
