Churros (Spanish Pastry)
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour 1 cup
- Water 1 cup
- Farm fresh eggs 3 pieces
- Sugar 1½ tablespoons
- Butter 5 oz
- Unrefined Sunflower Oil 0 qt
- Powdered Sugar to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Mix the butter, water, and sugar.
Step 2
Bring to a boil.
Step 3
Remove from heat and stir in the flour.
Step 4
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing until smooth after each addition.
Step 5
Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
Step 6
Heat the refined oil.
Step 7
Pipe the dough into the hot oil in ring shapes.
Step 8
Fry for 3–4 minutes until golden brown.
Step 9
Dust with powdered sugar to taste, or prepare hot chocolate.
Step 10
Serve warm.
