Churro
Baking and Desserts • Spanish
Description
Churros are a world-famous sweet treat, often served with chocolate sauce.
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour 10 oz
- Sugar 5 oz
- Ground Cinnamon 1 tablespoon
- Olive Oil 0 fl oz
- Unrefined Sunflower Oil 0 qt
- Salt to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Combine olive oil and half a liter of water in one bowl, and in another, larger bowl, mix together the flour and salt. Gradually pour the water and oil mixture into the flour, stirring well with a fork to achieve a thick, sticky dough. Allow the prepared dough to rest for about ten minutes.
Step 2
In a deep skillet, heat vegetable oil to 340°F. Transfer the dough into a plastic bag and cut off a corner of the bag so that when you squeeze it, the dough is extruded in a thin strip.
Step 3
Fry the sausages in hot oil until they turn golden brown. Place the fried churros on a paper towel to absorb any excess oil, sprinkle with a mixture of sugar and cinnamon, and serve immediately — with chocolate sauce or without.
