Ingredients

  • Wheat Flour 0 oz
  • Sugar 0 oz
  • Chopped almonds 0 oz
  • Egg white 1 piece
  • Butter 5 oz
  • Powdered Sugar to taste
  • Orange zest 1 piece
  • Jam 5 oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

In the sifted flour, add the butter cut into cubes, almonds (peeled, toasted in the oven, and ground into flour), sugar, and zest. Mix by rubbing with your hands until the dough resembles bread crumbs.

Step 2

Add the egg and 1 teaspoon of cold water and knead the dough.

Step 3

Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for 30–50 minutes.

Step 4

Roll out the dough into a moderately thin layer, and cut out circles the diameter of the baking molds.

Step 5

Fill the molds with the dough with jam, but not to the edges. From the leftover dough, cut out smaller circles, stars, or other shapes and place them on top of the jam in the molds.

Step 6

Bake in an oven preheated to 355°F for 20–25 minutes.

Step 7

Dust the cooled tarts with powdered sugar.
