Chocolate Strudel
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour 10 oz
- Cocoa Powder 0 oz
- Water 5 fl oz
- Egg white 1 piece
- Butter 5 oz
- Salt ½ teaspoon
- Pears 3 pieces
- Sugar 5 oz
- Ground Cinnamon 1 teaspoon
- Breadcrumbs 5 oz
- Raisins 5 oz
- Chopped almonds 0 oz
- Powdered Sugar 1 tablespoon
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Grate the butter on a coarse grater, mix it with the egg and salt. Pour in warm water and stir.
Step 2
Mix the flour with cocoa powder, sift, and incorporate into the egg mixture to knead a stiff dough. Wrap the finished dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 20-30 minutes.
Step 3
Wash the pears (or apples) and slice them thinly.
Step 4
Divide the dough into two equal parts. Roll each part as thin as possible on a clean towel.
Step 5
Sprinkle the rolled-out dough sheets with crushed breadcrumbs, leaving a little space from the edges. Then place the sliced pears, raisins, and almonds on top. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
Step 6
Fold the edges of each sheet and roll it up using the towel. Line a baking tray with parchment paper and grease it with butter.
Step 7
Carefully place the strudel on the baking tray and put it in a preheated oven at 390°F for 45 minutes. Brush the roll with melted butter every 15 minutes.
Step 8
Sprinkle the finished chocolate strudel with powdered sugar and cut into pieces.
