Chocolate Nut Cake
Baking and Desserts • Latin American
Description
Serve the chocolate nut cake with a scoop of ice cream and fragrant tea.
Ingredients
- Bitter 10 oz
- Walnuts 5 oz
- Hazelnut 5 oz
- Chopped almonds 5 oz
- Butter 5 oz
- Sugar 5 oz
- Chocolate eggs 7 pieces
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Separate the egg whites from the yolks. Whip the egg whites separately until stiff peaks form.
Step 2
Whip the yolks with softened butter, continuing to whip while adding one yolk at a time.
Step 3
Chop the chocolate with a knife, not too finely. Let there be various pieces of chocolate: both small crumbs and larger chunks. Place part of the nuts in a blender and grind them into fine crumbs, and grind the other part coarser.
Step 4
Add the nuts and chocolate to the butter and sugar mixture and mix well.
Step 5
Gently fold the whipped egg whites into the nut mixture using a spatula.
Step 6
If desired, line a springform pan with parchment paper, pour the batter into it, and place it in a preheated oven at 355°F. Reduce the temperature to 320°F and bake for about 30–40 minutes.
Step 7
Remove the finished cake from the pan and cool it on a wire rack. Then cut it into pieces of your desired size.
Step 8
You can decorate the cake to your liking, for example, with halves of walnuts or drizzle it with melted chocolate (dark or light).
