Chocolate Layer Cake
Ingredients
- Butter 10 oz
- Vanilla extract 1 tablespoon
- Chicken Egg 8 pieces
- Sugar 10 oz
- Cocoa Powder 5 oz
- Wheat Flour 5 oz
- 70% Dark Chocolate 15 oz
- 33% Cream 5 fl oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Melt 75 grams of butter and add vanilla extract. In a mixer, beat the sugar and eggs for 6-7 minutes. Add the sifted flour, cocoa powder, and the melted butter with vanilla. Mix with the mixer for another minute until the mixture is smooth.
Step 2
Preheat the oven to 355°F and divide the mixture between two round baking pans. Bake for 20 minutes. If you have only one pan, bake them one at a time. Allow to cool.
Step 3
In a small saucepan, melt dark chocolate with 155 grams of butter and add cream. Allow to cool.
Step 4
Cut each cake layer in half, resulting in four layers total. Assemble the cake, generously spreading cream on each layer. If there's any cream leftover, you can also spread it on the sides of the cake, but this is optional. If time allows, let the cake soak for 1-2 hours at room temperature, then refrigerate it overnight. However, it can also be served immediately.
