Ingredients

  • Brown Sugar ½ cup
  • Wheat Flour 1½ cups
  • Honey 3 tablespoons
  • Water 1 cup
  • Cocoa Powder 2 tablespoons
  • Vegetable Oil ½ cup
  • Activated Baking Soda 1 teaspoon
  • Ground Cinnamon 1 teaspoon
  • Ground clove a pinch
  • Cardamom ½ teaspoon
  • Chopped almonds ½ cup
  • Pistachios 2 tablespoons
  • Powdered Sugar 2 tablespoons
  • Light Raisins, Seedless 2 tablespoons

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Pour water into a saucepan, add sugar, honey, and oil.

Step 2

Place on heat and stir until dissolved. Let cool.

Step 3

Add baking soda, cocoa, and spices, and mix.

Step 4

In a blender on pulse mode (or in a mortar), grind the walnuts and place them in a separate container with the pine nuts (do not grind the pine nuts).

Step 5

Pour boiling water over the raisins for 5 minutes, then add to the nuts.

Step 6

Meanwhile, pour the cooled mixture into the blender, add flour, and blend until smooth.

Step 7

Combine the mixture with the nuts and raisins and mix.

Step 8

Bake in the oven for 30–40 minutes at 180–390°F.

Step 9

Sprinkle the finished cake with powdered sugar.
