Description
To avoid rolling out the dough on a floured surface, line it with parchment paper, place the dough, and cover it with another sheet of parchment. After chilling, remove the paper.
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour 1 cup
- Cocoa Powder ¼ cup
- Salt ¼ teaspoon
- Liquid dark chocolate 5 oz
- Activated Baking Soda ½ teaspoon
- Butter 4 tablespoons
- Brown Sugar ½ cup
- Egg white 1 piece
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
In a bowl, mix the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.

Melt the chopped chocolate, butter, and sugar in a double boiler until smooth. Let it cool slightly.
Step 3
Add the egg to the chocolate mixture, then gradually incorporate the flour, kneading to form a soft dough. Shape the dough into a ball.
Step 4
Divide the dough into 2 parts and roll each out to a thickness of about 6 mm.
Step 5
Transfer each sheet to a parchment-lined baking tray and freeze for 20 minutes.
Step 6
Preheat the oven to 355°F.
Step 7
Place the dough sheets on a work surface, remove the paper, and cut out heart-shaped cookies with a cookie cutter. Transfer to the baking tray, spacing them apart, and bake for about 8–10 minutes until done.
Step 8
Transfer to a wire rack and let cool.
