Chocolate Cupcakes with Sour Cream Frosting
Ingredients
- Milk 5 fl oz
- Farm fresh eggs 2 pieces
- Baking Powder 2 teaspoons
- Wheat Flour 10 oz
- 20% Sour Cream 5 tablespoons
- Cocoa Powder 4 tablespoons
- Butter 4 tablespoons
- Sugar 1 tablespoon
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
In a saucepan, combine butter, cocoa, sugar, and milk.
Step 2
Bring to a boil, then remove from heat. Let cool.
Step 3
Add eggs to the cooled mixture and mix well.
Step 4
Add baking powder and flour, and knead into a not too thick dough.
Step 5
Grease the molds (any kind, I used silicone) lightly with butter, fill with dough up to 2/3 full. Place in a preheated oven at 355°F and bake for 20–25 minutes.
Step 6
For the frosting, combine sour cream, cocoa, sugar, and butter in a saucepan.
Step 7
Bring to a boil (remove from heat as soon as the first bubbles appear). Let cool.
Step 8
Spread the cooled frosting over the cooled cupcakes. Optionally, decorate with sprinkles or crushed nuts.
