Chocolate Crème Brûlée
Ingredients
- Heavy cream 2 cups
- Bittersweet Chocolate 5 oz
- Vanilla extract to taste
- Egg white 5 pieces
- Sugar 5 tablespoons
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Melt the cream and pour it over the chocolate, then add the vanilla extract.
Step 2
Whisk the yolks with the sugar until frothy.
Step 3
Pour step #1 into step #2 and strain.
Step 4
Divide into ramekins. Place the ramekins in a dish with boiling water (this will speed up the cooking).
Step 5
Bake in the oven for 1 hour 15 minutes at 300°F.
Step 6
Remove the crème brûlée from the oven and sprinkle with brown sugar, then torch it to create a caramel crust. This is optional.
