Chocolate Coconut Truffles
Ingredients
- Desiccated coconut 2½ cups
- Liquid dark chocolate 5 oz
- Cocoa Powder ½ cup
- Sugar ½ cup
- Egg white 3 pieces
- Vanilla salt to taste
- Salt to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Break the chocolate into pieces and melt it in a water bath or microwave. Let it cool slightly. Lightly beat the egg whites with a fork and combine them in a bowl with the shredded coconut, sugar, vanilla, and salt. Add the cooled chocolate and cocoa powder. Place in the freezer for 20 minutes.
Step 2
Preheat the oven to 320°F. With wet hands (it's easier to use thin rubber gloves), form small truffles from the cold mixture. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spaced 2–3 cm apart.
Step 3
Bake the truffles for 17–20 minutes — they should harden on the outside but remain soft on the inside.
