  • Butter 5 oz
  • Egg white 3 pieces
  • Sugar 5 oz
  • Water 5 fl oz
  • Wheat Flour 5 oz
  • Cocoa Powder 2 tablespoons
  • Baking Powder 1 teaspoon
  • Ground Cinnamon 1 teaspoon
  • Grated Ginger Root 1 teaspoon
  • Ground Nutmeg ½ teaspoon
  • Red Currant 5 oz
  • Apple 2 pieces

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

In a large bowl, beat the eggs, sugar, butter, and water until you have a soft, homogeneous mixture.

Step 2

In another bowl, mix the dry ingredients: flour, cocoa, baking powder, and spices.

Step 3

Add the dry ingredients to the first mixture and mix everything well.

Step 4

Peel the apples and cut them into pieces. Add the apples and berries (if using frozen, thaw them first) to the bowl with the batter, and if desired, add vanilla or vanilla extract. Mix everything until the added ingredients are evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Step 5

Pour everything into a greased and floured loaf pan.

Step 6

Place in a preheated oven at 330°F and bake for 60–70 minutes. Check with a wooden stick or toothpick.

Step 7

Remove from the oven and wait for the cake to cool; if desired, sprinkle with powdered sugar and other decorations.
