Description
Chocolate brownies with caramel and walnuts
Ingredients
- Butter 10 oz
- Liquid dark chocolate 5 oz
- Sugar 5 oz
- Farm fresh eggs 3 pieces
- Walnuts 0 oz
- Wheat Flour ½ cup
- Vanilla salt 1 teaspoon
- Baking Powder 1 teaspoon
- Salt a pinch
- Small Caramels 30 pieces
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Place the butter and chocolate in a small saucepan. Stir and melt over low heat until you have a completely smooth melted chocolate.
Step 2
Cool the melted chocolate with butter to room temperature.
Step 3
In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, and vanilla sugar. Add the melted chocolate and mix very well until fully combined. Chop the walnuts and add them to the batter.
Step 4
Add the flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt to the chocolate mixture. Mix very well until you have a smooth and uniform batter.
Step 5
Grease a baking dish with butter, sprinkle with flour, and shake off the excess. Alternatively, line the bottom with parchment paper greased with butter.
Step 6
Pour exactly half of the batter into the prepared dish and place it in the refrigerator.
Step 7
Place all the caramels in a small saucepan, add a small amount of hot water (2–3 tablespoons), put it on the heat, and stir constantly until the caramels melt. You should have a smooth hot caramel sauce.
Step 8
Cool it for five minutes, take the dish with half the batter out of the refrigerator, and carefully pour all the caramel over it. Return to the refrigerator for another 30 minutes.
Step 9
Take the caramel-covered batter out of the refrigerator and carefully pour the second layer of batter over the caramel, spreading it evenly across the surface with a silicone spatula or spoon if necessary.
Step 10
Bake the brownies in an oven preheated to 355°F for 40 minutes, or until fully cooked. Check for doneness with a toothpick. It is very important not to overbake the brownies—they should be very tender and moist.
Step 11
Let the brownies cool slightly and cut them just before serving.
