Ingredients
- Sugar 20 oz
- Whole Milk 5 fl oz
- Chocolate 5 oz
- Egg 1 piece
- Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
- French bread 4 pieces
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 160°C.
Step 2
Lightly spray a 1.5-liter shallow baking dish with cooking spray.
Step 3
Bring 120 ml of sugar, cream, and whole milk to a boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
Step 4
Remove from heat and add 100 g of chocolate pieces, whisking until they dissolve and the mixture is smooth.
Step 5
In a large bowl, lightly beat the egg and vanilla until combined.
Step 6
Slowly pour the hot chocolate mixture into the egg mixture.
Step 7
Let the custard cool for 10 minutes, stirring frequently.
Step 8
Add the bread cubes and remaining chocolate pieces to the custard mixture. Gently shake to coat.
Step 9
Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of sugar.
