Ingredients

  • Butter 10 oz
  • Brown Sugar 2½ cups
  • Liquid dark chocolate 5 oz
  • Farm fresh eggs 4 pieces
  • Vanilla extract 2 teaspoons
  • Wheat Flour 2 cups
  • Salt ½ teaspoon
  • Cocoa Powder to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 320°F. Grease a 25x35 cm rectangular baking pan with butter. Cut a rectangle from parchment paper to fit the bottom and place it in the pan.

Step 2

In a double boiler, melt the butter, chocolate, and sugar until smooth.

Step 3

Beat the eggs and vanilla into the chocolate mixture. Then gradually add the flour and sugar.

Step 4

Pour the batter into the pan and smooth it out. Bake for about 35–40 minutes until done, checking with a toothpick. Let cool.

Step 5

Transfer the cake to a work surface, remove the paper, and cut out hearts using a cookie cutter.

Step 6

Roll the hearts in cocoa powder on all sides and transfer to a serving plate.
