Chocolate-Banana Cream without Sugar
Baking and Desserts • European
Description
Milk can be replaced with heavy cream, unsweetened yogurt, or for a 'lactose-free' option - citrus juice. I also usually add a couple of tablespoons of cocoa to the chocolate (for depth of flavor), and you can additionally add a pinch of cinnamon.
Ingredients
- Bananas 3 pieces
- Liquid dark chocolate 5 oz
- Milk 5 fl oz
- Vanilla extract to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Pureed (mashed) bananas with milk are simmered in a small saucepan for 3-5 minutes while stirring.
Step 2
Gradually add broken (or grated) chocolate and vanilla to the hot mixture.
Step 3
Once the chocolate is completely melted, pour the cream into jars and let it cool. It will thicken noticeably in the cold and can be stored there for about 2-3 weeks. (This amount of ingredients yields approximately 500 ml of cream)
