Chocolate-Banana Cake 'Surrealist'
Baking and Desserts • European
Description
1) Sharing my experience, I would like to note that it is preferable to use dark chocolate, but not bitter. The first time I used 70% chocolate, the brown layer of the cake turned out a bit bitter. 2) The recipe indicates a cooking time of 30 minutes; I kept it in a bit longer — I think it depends on your oven, so you'll have to judge for yourself.
Ingredients
- Liquid dark chocolate 10 oz
- Butter 5 oz
- Cocoa Powder 3 tablespoons
- Wheat Flour 5 tablespoons
- Cottage cheese 5 oz
- Farm fresh eggs 5 pieces
- Bananas 2 pieces
- Sugar 6 tablespoons
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
We start with the chocolate layer. Melt the chocolate and butter in a double boiler until smooth.
Step 2
Let the melted chocolate cool slightly. The main thing is that it should be warm, but not hot. Beat 3 eggs with 4 tablespoons of sugar using a mixer for 5 minutes, no more.
Step 3
Mix the flour with the cocoa powder.
Step 4
Add the chocolate to the beaten eggs and mix vigorously to prevent the chocolate from settling at the bottom.
Step 5
Then sift the flour and cocoa mixture into the batter and gently mix, eliminating lumps. The chocolate layer is ready.
Step 6
Cottage cheese layer. Place the cottage cheese, 2 eggs, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and bananas into a blender. Blend until smooth.
Step 7
Grease the baking pan with butter. First, spread a thin layer of the chocolate mixture, leaving some gaps. On top, unevenly place the cottage cheese-banana mixture. Carefully use a toothpick to create some beautiful swirls, mixing the layers. Then alternate the layers. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes at 345°F.
