Ingredients
- Peeled chestnuts 20 oz
- Sugar 1 cup
- Farm fresh eggs 8 pieces
- Chopped almonds 5 oz
- Breadcrumbs 2 tablespoons
- Powdered Sugar 1 tablespoon
- Liqueur 1 tablespoon
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Peel the chestnuts, boil them in water until soft, and pass them through a sieve.
Step 2
Crush the almonds with the breadcrumbs in a mortar.
Step 3
Separate the egg whites from the yolks. Beat the sugar with the yolks and gradually add the sieved chestnuts, the almond mixture, the liqueur, and finally fold in the whipped egg whites. Mix everything together.
Step 4
Bake at 430°F for 40-50 minutes in a greased baking dish.
Step 5
Dust the finished pie with powdered sugar.
