Cherry Strudel
Ingredients
- Vegetable Oil 1 tablespoon
- Salt a pinch
- Marinated cherries 20 oz
- Chopped almonds 5 oz
- Raisins 0 oz
- Sugar 2 tablespoons
- Wheat Flour 5 oz
- Water 5 fl oz
- Rum 2 tablespoons
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
For the dough, sift the flour into a bowl, add salt. Pour in the oil and water. Knead until a smooth dough forms. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Step 2
Soak the raisins in water and leave at room temperature.
Step 3
Chop the almonds in a blender.
Step 4
Thaw the cherries and drain the juice (you can use canned cherries, but then do not add sugar).
Step 5
Remove the dough from the refrigerator, place a kitchen towel on the table and dust it with flour. Place the dough in the center and begin to roll it out. The dough should be very thin.
Step 6
Sprinkle the dough with ground almonds, add the cherries, and sprinkle with sugar.
Step 7
Using the towel, start rolling the strudel, pinching the sides.
Step 8
Place in a greased baking dish. Brush the finished strudel with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar. Bake in a preheated oven at 355°F.
