Cherry and Blackcurrant Pie

Ingredients

  • Butter 5 oz
  • Sugar 10 oz
  • Wheat Flour 10 oz
  • Farm fresh eggs 3 pieces
  • Baking Powder 1 teaspoon
  • Sour Cream 5 oz
  • Marinated cherries 15 oz
  • Blackcurrant liqueur 5 oz
  • Chopped almonds 5 oz
  • Powdered Sugar 5 oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Cut the butter into small pieces, add 250 g of flour, baking powder, and 150 g of sugar, and rub together with your hands until crumbly.

Step 2

Set aside about a handful of crumbs in a container and place it in the refrigerator.

Step 3

Add 1 egg and knead the dough. Form into a ball, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 1 hour or place in the freezer for 15–20 minutes.

Step 4

Preheat the oven to 390°F.

Step 5

Meanwhile, prepare the berries: if they have pits, remove them.

Step 6

Prepare the filling: beat 2 eggs, 150 g of sugar, 50 g of flour, and sour cream with a mixer.

Step 7

After the time is up, take the dough out of the refrigerator and place it in a greased and floured baking dish.

Step 8

Add the berries on top, then pour the filling over, sprinkle with the reserved crumbs and almond flakes.

Step 9

Bake in the oven for 35–40 minutes. Once the pie is ready and cooled, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
