Cheese and Peach Pie
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour 5 oz
- Butter 5 oz
- Sugar 10 oz
- Farm fresh eggs 3 pieces
- Baking Powder ½ teaspoon
- Cottage cheese 15 oz
- Sour Cream 5 oz
- Corn Starch 3 tablespoons
- Vanillin 0 oz
- Canned Peaches 5 oz
- Lemon ½ piece
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Cream the softened butter with 100 g of sugar. Add 1 egg and mix well. Add the baking powder and gradually incorporate the flour, mixing well with a spoon each time. Then, shape the dough into a ball with your hands.
Step 2
Transfer the dough to a baking dish (22 cm will work). Spread the dough across the bottom of the dish and form high edges, about 6–7 cm tall. Place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Step 3
In a bowl, combine the cottage cheese, sour cream, 120 g of sugar, vanilla sugar, 2 eggs, cornstarch, and the juice of half a lemon. Whisk until smooth.
Step 4
Pour the cheese mixture into the dish with the dough.
Step 5
Carefully place the peach halves on top (they should sink slightly into the cream). Place in a preheated oven at 355°F. Bake for about 1 hour.
Step 6
Allow the finished pie to cool completely. It is recommended to refrigerate it for another 30 minutes, as the flavor of the cottage cheese is best revealed in a chilled pie.
