Ingredients
- Wheat Flour 1 cup
- Wheat Flour 1 cup
- Baking Powder 1 tablespoon
- Salt ½ teaspoon
- Cayenne Pepper ¼ teaspoon
- Ground Black Pepper ½ teaspoon
- Butter 0 oz
- Milk 1 cup
- Cheshire Cheese 5 oz
- Paprika to taste
- Whole egg 1 piece
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Grate the cheese using a coarse grater.
Step 2
Preheat the oven to 430°F (428 degrees Fahrenheit). Grease a muffin tin with butter or place paper liners in each cup.
Step 3
In a bowl, mix both flours, baking powder, salt, cayenne pepper, black pepper, and 1 cup of grated cheese.
Step 4
In a saucepan, melt the butter with the milk. Allow to cool to a warm temperature. Then add the egg while whisking.
Step 5
Incorporate the dry ingredients into the butter mixture, gently mixing.
Step 6
Divide the batter into the muffin cups and sprinkle the remaining cheese on top. Dust with paprika.
Step 7
Bake for 16-18 minutes until done, checking with a toothpick. Cool in the pan for 5 minutes and transfer to a plate. Serve warm.
