Description
Chaussons aux pommes, a classic French pastry.
Ingredients
- Puff Pastry 20 oz
- Apple 2 pieces
- Sugar 3 tablespoons
- Citrus Zest Mix to taste
- Egg white 1 piece
- Water 1 tablespoon
- Powdered Sugar 0 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Wash the two apples, remove the core, peel them, and cut them into either slices or cubes (not too small, but not too large). Melt a little butter.
Step 2
Place the apple pieces in a saucepan, add sugar, lemon juice with zest, and cook for about fifteen to twenty minutes, stirring, over medium heat.
Step 3
One minute before removing from the heat, add sugar with vanilla.
Step 4
Roll out the puff pastry and cut out small circles. The shape of the chaussons should resemble a crescent.
Step 5
Before baking, brush with egg. Place in the oven for 30 minutes.
