- Grapefruits 1 piece
- Water 5 fl oz
- Sugar 5 oz
- Light Corn Syrup 1 tablespoon
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Using a citrus knife, cut the zest from the grapefruit into long strips. Slice each strip into thin julienne.
Step 2
Place the strips in a saucepan and cover with water. Bring to a boil and cook for 10 minutes. Drain the water through a strainer.
Step 3
In a small saucepan, combine 150 ml of water, sugar, and syrup. Bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Add the grapefruit strips and simmer until the zest becomes transparent and the syrup thickens, about 15-20 minutes. Cool the zest in the syrup. Cover and refrigerate.
