Caramelized bananas with rum sauce and nuts
Ingredients
- Butter 0 oz
- Brown Sugar 2 tablespoons
- Nutmeg ½ teaspoon
- Spices ¼ teaspoon
- Bananas 4 pieces
- Rum 1 tablespoon
- Orange zest 1 piece
- Chopped almonds 2 tablespoons
- Vanilla Ice Cream to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Place the butter, sugar, nutmeg, and spices in a skillet and set over medium heat. Stir well and cook for 1 minute or until the sugar is completely dissolved. Add the bananas, peeled and cut in half lengthwise, cut side down, and cook for 2 minutes until slightly soft. Transfer the bananas to plates.
Step 2
In the skillet, add the zest and juice of the orange and cook for 2 minutes until syrupy. Pour in the rum. Drizzle the sauce over the bananas and sprinkle with chopped walnuts. Dust with nutmeg and serve warm with ice cream.
