Caramelized Apples with Cinnamon
Ingredients
- Water 15 fl oz
- Sugar 30 oz
- Light Corn Syrup 15 fl oz
- Ground Cinnamon a pinch
- Red Food Coloring ¼ teaspoon
- Crabapples 12 pieces
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Pour the water, sugar, and corn syrup into a heavy-bottomed saucepan and bring to a boil. Cook until the temperature reaches 295°F (use a candy thermometer). This will take about 20 minutes or a little longer.
Step 2
Add the cinnamon and food coloring.
Step 3
Transfer the syrup to a large bowl and place it in a pot of boiling water. This will keep the syrup warm.
Step 4
Take 12 popsicle sticks and pierce the bottom of each apple.
Step 5
Dip each apple on a stick into the syrup and swirl until it is completely coated in glaze. Repeat the same with each one.
Step 6
Place to cool on parchment paper until hardened.
