Caramel Cake with Walnuts
Ingredients
- Sugar 1½ cups
- Oranges 1½ pieces
- Kefir 1 cup
- Farm fresh eggs 3 pieces
- Wheat Flour 2½ cups
- Salt to taste
- Walnuts 0 oz
- Activated Baking Soda 1 teaspoon
- Condensed Milk ½ can
- Cream ½ l
- Fresh Berries to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 430°F.
Step 2
Finely chop the orange zest in a food processor or grind it through a meat grinder. Combine with sugar, add 5 tablespoons of water, and cook over low heat until the sugar dissolves and turns a reddish-brown color.
Step 3
Slightly cool the caramel, combine it with warm kefir, and mix thoroughly. Gradually add flour, baking soda, salt, and eggs one at a time. Add coarsely chopped walnuts and knead the mixture into a dough.
Step 4
Roll out the dough, cut out the layers, and bake in the oven.
Step 5
Cut each baked layer into 2 pieces and layer them with cream. To prepare the cream, whip the cream with the boiled condensed milk.
Step 6
Decorate the finished cake with fresh berries.
