Ingredients
- Wheat Flour 20 oz
- Sugar 15 oz
- Chopped almonds 10 oz
- Chicken Egg 3 pieces
- Whole egg 4 pieces
- Egg white ½ pieces
- Butter 0 oz
- Baking Powder 0 oz
- Rice Sweet Wine 0 fl oz
- Salt a pinch
- Star anise a pinch
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 170°C. Mix the flour with the baking powder. In a bowl, combine the eggs, 3 egg yolks, sugar, melted butter, ground anise, and wine.
Step 2
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour with the egg mixture. Alternatively, you can knead the dough on a work surface by forming a mound with the flour, creating a well in the center, and pouring the egg mixture into it. Knead until you achieve a smooth and homogeneous dough.
Step 3
Add the nuts. Use a metal spoon to transfer the dough onto a floured surface and shape it into rectangular strips measuring 4 cm by 15 cm. Roll them in flour and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 30 minutes or until they are a uniform golden color. In the meantime, prepare the glaze. Mix the remaining yolk, egg white, and anise seeds.
Step 4
Remove from the oven, cut diagonally into strips about 1 cm thick, and brush with glaze using a pastry brush. Return the cookies to the oven for 10-15 minutes.
