Canadian Pear Pie
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour 4 cups
- Sugar 1 cup
- Butter 10 oz
- Farm fresh eggs 2 pieces
- Whole egg 1 piece
- Sour Cream 1 can
- Citric Acid ½ teaspoon
- Activated Baking Soda ½ teaspoon
- Vanillin 1 teaspoon
- Pears 5 pieces
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Melt and cool the butter.
Step 2
Take 2 bowls: add half of the flour and baking soda to one, mix well. In the other bowl, add the second half of the flour and citric acid, mix well. Combine both portions together.
Step 3
Mix the eggs, egg yolk, sugar, sour cream, melted butter, and vanillin, and beat well.
Step 4
Gently fold in the flour and mix all components together.
Step 5
Slice the pears.
Step 6
Divide the dough into two parts. Spread one part on the bottom of a greased baking dish. Place the pear slices on top of the dough and sprinkle with sugar. Layer the second half of the dough on top.
Step 7
Bake for about 20 minutes.
