Cabbage Soup
Ingredients
- White Cabbage 10 oz
- Tomatoes 2 pieces
- Campbell's Beef Broth 5 qt
- Carrot 1 piece
- Onion 1 head
- Salad Potatoes 4 pieces
- Butter 0 oz
- Bay leaf 2 pieces
- Green peppercorns 5 pieces
- Garlic 3 cloves
- Salt to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Finely shred the cabbage.
Step 2
Make a cross cut on the tomatoes and pour boiling water over them to easily peel the skin.
Step 3
Cut the potatoes into slices of any shape.
Step 4
Add the cabbage to the boiling broth and cook for 5 minutes. Then add the potatoes.
Step 5
Dice the tomatoes and add them to the broth.
Step 6
Grate the carrot on a coarse grater.
Step 7
Melt the butter and sauté the carrot.
Step 8
Add finely chopped onion to the carrot and sauté until translucent. Add the sautéed mixture to the soup as soon as the vegetables are cooked. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
Step 9
Chop the garlic and mash it with a pinch of salt.
Step 10
Add pepper, bay leaf, and garlic to the finished soup. Turn off the heat and let it steep for 7-10 minutes.
Step 11
Optionally, you can add herbs or sour cream.
