Burma (Roll with Pumpkin and Walnuts)

Ingredients

  • Wheat Flour 35 oz
  • Water 15 fl oz
  • Salt 1 teaspoon
  • Chicken Egg 1 piece
  • Pumpkin 70 oz
  • Sugar to taste
  • Shelled pumpkin seeds 10 oz
  • Clarified Butter 10 fl oz
  • Vegetable Oil 1 tablespoon

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Sift the flour.

Step 2

Make a well in the flour.

Step 3

Dissolve the salt in the water and pour this mixture into the flour.

Step 4

Add the egg and a tablespoon of oil.

Step 5

Knead everything well.

Step 6

Cover with a napkin and let it rest for 20 minutes.

Step 7

Cut the pumpkin into 8 wedges.

Step 8

Peel and remove the seeds.

Step 9

Grate on a coarse grater.

Step 10

Chop the walnuts coarsely.

Step 11

Divide the dough into 3 parts and roll each part into a large thin circle.

Step 12

Brush the circle with clarified butter.

Step 13

Spread the pumpkin in a thin layer over the dough sheet.

Step 14

Sprinkle with walnuts and sugar (to taste).

Step 15

Roll it up and place on a baking sheet.

Step 16

Brush the top with clarified butter.

Step 17

Bake in the oven at 390°F for 40–50 minutes until golden brown.

Step 18

Cut into slices while the roll is hot.
