Buckwheat porridge with steamed onions
Ingredients
- Buckwheat Groats 1 cup
- Water 2 cups
- Onion 1 head
- Butter 0 oz
- Salt to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Sort and rinse the buckwheat.
Step 2
Add the buckwheat to boiling water. Cover the pot tightly with a lid. Bring to a boil and reduce to low heat.
Step 3
Dice the onion and add it to the pot exactly seven minutes after boiling. Important: do not stir the porridge and onion during cooking.
Step 4
Turn off the heat eight minutes after adding the onion, add salt and butter. Gently stir and let it sit for 10–15 minutes.
