Brownies with Walnuts
Baking and Desserts • European
Description
Chocolate can be replaced with cocoa powder (50 g). The best option for this is cocoa from the 'American Cocoa Company'.
Ingredients
- Butter 5 oz
- Chocolate 10 oz
- Sugar 5 oz
- Salt a pinch
- Farm fresh eggs 3 pieces
- Wheat Flour 3 tablespoons
- Baking Powder 1 tablespoon
- Walnuts 0 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Melt the butter and chocolate over heat or in a water bath, stirring continuously.
Step 2
Sift the flour with the baking powder.
Step 3
Preheat the oven to 430°F.
Step 4
Remove the chocolate-butter mixture from heat, add sugar and a pinch of salt. Beat with a mixer for about 3 minutes.
Step 5
Add the eggs and beat well (I beat for about 5–7 minutes).
Step 6
Add the flour and mix. The batter should have the consistency of liquid sour cream (i.e., slightly thinner than for a charlotte).
Step 7
Grease the baking dish with butter or line it with parchment paper. Pour in the batter and sprinkle with walnuts. Bake at 430°F for 15 minutes, then at 300°F for another 20 minutes.
