Bread Bowls for Salad
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour 20 oz
- Salt to taste
- Water 10 fl oz
- Dry yeast 0 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Rub the yeast into the flour until a uniform crumb forms. Add salt, then water. Knead the dough for 2 to 3 minutes until it starts to come together.
Step 2
Preheat the oven to 480°F.
Step 3
Divide the dough into pieces of about 40 g each. Roll each piece into a ball and let rest for 5 minutes.
Step 4
On a floured surface, roll each piece into a flat disc about 1 to 2 mm thick, turning several times and dusting with flour.
Step 5
Bake on an inverted baking sheet dusted with flour for 3 to 4 minutes for each bowl. The bowls should noticeably increase in volume and acquire a golden hue.
Step 6
Cool the bowls on a wire rack. Before serving, use a wet brush to draw a small circle at the base of the bowl and carefully cut out the softened circle with a very sharp knife. Fill the bowls with salad without dressing and turn them upside down.
