Biscotti with poppy seeds and orange zest
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour 2 cups
- Sugar 1 cup
- Poppy seed paste 5 oz
- Baking Powder 1 teaspoon
- Salt ¼ teaspoon
- Activated Baking Soda ½ teaspoon
- Farm fresh eggs 2 pieces
- Egg white 2 pieces
- Concentrated Cranberry Juice 1 tablespoon
- Citrus Zest Mix 3 tablespoons
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 320°F. Grease a baking sheet with oil.
Step 2
In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, poppy seeds, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Step 3
In another bowl, beat the eggs, egg whites, orange zest, and juice. Combine both mixtures, stirring with a wooden spoon.
Step 4
Shape the dough into 2 logs and place them on the baking sheet. Bake in the oven for 20–25 minutes, cool, then slice diagonally into small pieces.
Step 5
Place back on the baking sheet and return to the oven at 300°F for 40 minutes, flipping once. Cool.
