Banana pudding
Ingredients
- Sugar ¾ glasses
- Corn Starch ¼ glasses
- Coarse Salt ½ spoons
- Whole egg 6 pieces
- Milk 3½ glasses
- Butter 2 spoons
- Vanillin 1 tablespoon
- Dark rum 1 tablespoon
- Bananas 5 pieces
- Crushed Vanilla Wafers 10 oz
- Heavy cream 1 glass
- Powdered Sugar ¼ glasses
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
In a saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch, salt, and egg yolks. Add milk and bring to a boil over medium heat. Cook, stirring, until the mixture thickens, about a couple of minutes. Remove from heat, stir in diced butter, and add vanilla and rum. Allow to cool.
Step 2
Place half of the vanilla wafers at the bottom of a 20x20 cm baking dish, then layer a third of the sliced bananas on top, and pour a third of the milk-and-butter mixture over it. Repeat to create two more layers in the same manner.
Step 3
In a large bowl, use a mixer to whip the chilled cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form, then spoon it on top of the pudding.
