Description

Banana Pie

Ingredients

  • Sugar ½ glasses
  • Wheat Flour 3 glasses
  • Salt ½ spoons
  • Milk 3 glasses
  • Whole egg 3 pieces
  • Butter 1 tablespoon
  • Vanilla extract 1½ spoons
  • Bananas 3 pieces
  • 10% cream 1 glass
  • Shortcrust Cake Mix 15 oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, flour, and salt with milk, gradually adding it in about half a cup at a time. Cook while whisking constantly until the mixture thickens, about fifty minutes, then remove from heat. In a small bowl, whisk 0.3 cups of the resulting milk mixture with the egg yolks, then use a whisk to incorporate this milk-egg mixture into the remaining mixture in the saucepan. Cook the custard over medium heat, whisking constantly, until it thickens, about five minutes. Remove the saucepan from the heat, then stir in the butter and vanilla extract. Transfer the custard to a large bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let cool.

Step 2

Preheat the oven to 390°F. Dust the countertop with flour, roll out the dough, and place it in a baking dish lined with parchment paper. Prick the dough with a fork in several places and refrigerate for thirty minutes. After half an hour, place a layer of baking beans on the dough and bake until the edges of the crust are golden brown, about fifteen minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool for two to three minutes, then take out the beans and parchment paper. Return the crust to the oven for another five minutes, then remove and let it cool completely.

Step 3

Peel the bananas and slice them thinly. Layer the bananas and custard cream on top of the shortcrust base. Cover the pie with plastic wrap and refrigerate for two hours. For decoration, use whipped cream and banana.
