Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 195°F.

Step 2

Line 2–3 large baking sheets with parchment paper.

Step 3

Slice the apples and bananas into very thin rounds. You can use a mandoline or a sharp knife for this. Arrange the fruit slices in a single layer on baking sheets.

Step 4

Place the baking sheets in the preheated oven for 1.5 to 2 hours. The apple chips will bake faster than the banana chips, so be sure to check them after 1.5 hours. The banana chips should stay in the oven for an additional half hour, depending on their thickness.

Step 5

Cool the fruit chips on the baking sheets, then transfer them to an airtight container; they can be stored for up to 1 week.
