Baked pears with pecorino cheese and caramel sauce

Ingredients

  • Anjou Pear 4 pieces
  • Butter 2 tablespoons
  • Sugar 6 tablespoons
  • Vanilla Pod 1 piece
  • Brandy 5 fl oz
  • Grated Pecorino Pepato Cheese 10 oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 355°F.

Step 2

Cut the pears in half and peel them, then carefully remove the cores.

Step 3

Melt the butter in an ovenproof skillet over medium heat, place the pears cut side down, sprinkle with sugar, and cook for about 4 minutes until the sugar dissolves and turns into caramel.

Step 4

Add the vanilla seeds and pod to the skillet, reduce the heat, pour in the brandy, and cook for a few more minutes.

Step 5

Carefully flip the pears (they should be golden) and transfer to the oven to soften for 10 minutes.

Step 6

Transfer to a plate, sprinkle with cheese shavings, and drizzle with the caramel sauce from the skillet.
